1. Preparation is Key

The first step to performing well in an international high school English interview is to prepare thoroughly. This means reading up on common interview questions, practicing your responses, and familiarizing yourself with the format and structure of the interview. It may also be helpful to research the school and the program to which you are applying, as this will demonstrate your interest and knowledge.

2. Confidence and Communication Skills

During the interview, confidence and clear communication are critical. Speak slowly and clearly, enunciating each word. Make eye contact with the interviewer, and use appropriate body language to convey your confidence and enthusiasm. Remember, the interviewer wants to get to know you, so be yourself!

3. Grammar and Punctuation

Good grammar and proper punctuation are essential for effective communication. Familiarize yourself with basic grammar rules, such as subject-verb agreement and verb tenses. Additionally, pay attention to punctuation marks such as commas, periods, and semicolons, as they can significantly affect the meaning of your words. If possible, practice your speech or writing in front of a mirror or with a friend to catch any mistakes.

4. Show Your Interest and Knowledge

To stand out from other candidates, it's important to demonstrate your interest in the program and your knowledge of the school. Research the school's values, mission, and programs, and use this information to frame your answers during the interview. For example, you might talk about why you are drawn to the school's emphasis on community service or its innovative teaching methods.

每個學(xué)校對面試的設(shè)計都不盡相同，一般時間基本維持在10分鐘左右，由學(xué)校的中方英語老師，外方英語老師甚至是外方校長親自擔(dān)當(dāng)面試官進(jìn)行全英文的面試。一般面試題目都圍繞個人介紹，興趣愛好，學(xué)術(shù)背景以及課外活動等話題。但面試官們有時候也會問一些讓學(xué)生出其不意的問題，這個對于英語口語能力一般的初三孩子來說，就會有比較大的障礙。

面試過程中，老師重點考查的是，學(xué)生英文的Fluency（流利度），Vocabulary（詞匯），Grammar（語法），以及 Pronunciation（發(fā)音），類似于雅思口語考試的評分體系，因此面試口語能力的考查對學(xué)生有較高的要求，建議學(xué)生提早對面試做好有針對性的準(zhǔn)備。
